Watercolor Workshop 5/18-5/21
I attended a 4-day Watercolor Workshop: Flowers and Landscape Techniques put on by Chelsea Center for the Arts. Sharon Freeman was the instructor. It was a great experience and I learned a lot of new things. Sharon was a wonderful teacher; very patient and shared her wealth of knowledge. The venue at the Comfort Inn Conference Center in Chelsea was excellent.
Below, Sharon is working on a floral painting demonstration.

Artist Opening Reception - Whole Foods Market -Washtenaw Ave - Ann Arbor, MI - April 12, 2011
The artist openint reception was so much fun! Whole Foods did a great job of creating a welcoming environment complete with an array of foods and beverages for everyone. I had an opportunity to chat with several artists and people visiting the gallery. Very nicely done! Many thanks to Vickie Peterson Michalk for coordinating the exhibit for AAWA, and to Mary Ann Nisley, from Whole Foods, Marketing and Community Relations.
This exhibit will be up until June 13th. Stop on by and take a look! There are four AAWA artists exhibiting at this show. Virginia Burkel - Photography; Katie Halton - Painter; Peggy Brewer - Painter & book artist; and myself, Kathryn Duncan - watercolor painter. There are two Michigan Artists exhibiting, as well, Pamela Timmons and Jim Wolnosky. The gallery is on the mezzanine level; just take the elevator in the back of the store.
